Dave Brat (Ph.D. in Economics, The American University) served in the United States Congress for the Virginia District. Serving on the House Budget Committee, and as a member of the House Freedom Caucus, Dave led the charge in Congress for a more fiscally responsible budget process. His wealth of knowledge also comes from years of experience in the industry, as an economic consultant and 20+ years of work in higher education. Dr. Brat currently serves as the president of the Virginia Association of Economists and is a member of the Virginia Board of Accountancy. On January 2, 2019, former Congressman David Brat took the helm of the Liberty University School of Business.

Dr. David Brat and the leadership at Liberty University have officially opened its new, 78,000-square-foot School of Business. According to Liberty University, the three-story structure will be equipped with state-of-the art technology in its classrooms and professional meeting rooms. It will house the Center for Cyber Excellence and the Center for Entrepreneurship and will also feature a stock trading simulation room (in partnership with BB&T), information technology labs, networking and data centers, and a 500-seat auditorium.
According to Forbes, Liberty University is one of the largest private nonprofit universities in the nation with more than 100,000 students and more than 47,000 undergraduates. More than half live on one of the nation’s biggest campuses, which is more than 7,000 acres in Central Virginia.
